What is BOSS

Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) is a Directorate for Family, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (DFMWR) program that focuses on enhancing the morale, welfare, and quality of life (QoL) of single Soldiers and improving Soldier readiness.

The BOSS program executes events in the following categories: Life Skills, Recreation and Leisure, Quality of Life (QoL), and Volunteer. Life Skill (LS) events are instructional events enabling Soldiers to gain lifelong knowledge, a particular skill, or certification. Recreation and Leisure events are fun activities developed for Soldiers’ particular interests. Quality of Life (QoL) events directly or indirectly influence Soldiers’ morale, living environment, or personal growth and development. Volunteer events connect Soldiers with their community, allowing them to give back and, in turn, receive volunteer hours and self-fulfillment.

Who can Participate

BOSS events are open to all Soldiers, no matter their rank or grade, who fall into the following three categories: single Soldiers, single parents, and geographical bachelors.

Events. On Fort Novosel the BOSS Program is large contributor to the volunteer requests from within and outside of the base. With that being said we encourage everyone outside of our categories to include spouses looking to volunteer to contact BOSS!
